Our Story

Earlier this year, when everyone was still adjusting to the recent pandemic at hand, I wanted to learn a new craft. After years of coding, I decided to try something very different — sewing. 🧵

I borrowed my first sewing machine and started to tinker a bit with material around the house, creating cute shirts and hair scrunchies from my parents’ older shirts.👚

In late spring 2020, I didn’t think the world could get any more difficult. But it did… my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.

As the first part of her cancer treatment, my mom had invasive surgery.

I decided then that I would surprise her with something special to make her smile when she returned from the hospital. She had been hinting that she would want a COVID-fighting mask with small breasts embroidered on it to highlight the cause and to bring a little bit of joy into her world.

That’s when Alexa Bella Designs was born.

I am creating a boutique business to shed light on causes that are important to my mom and me, and also important to others in the world. Given that cancer patients are more susceptible to COVID-19 and in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we are beginning with a custom pink mask called Sandra.

My mother is now on chemotherapy, and we plan to launch a new mask together every month. I hope you will join us on our journey together. 💕💕💕
