February’s custom mask is called “Shirley”, named after congresswoman Shirley Chisholm.

Part of the proceeds will go to support the Shirley Chisholm Education Foundation.

This month, I'm hoping to bring additional awareness to Black History Month.

February's mask is dedicated to a special individual who contributed significantly to African American history - Shirley Chisholm.

Shirley Chisholm is best known for becoming the first Black congresswoman in 1968. She represented the State of New York in the US House of Representatives for seven terms. Shirley then went on to run for the 1972 Democratic nomination for the presidency—becoming the first major-party African-American candidate. Throughout her political career, Chisholm fought for education opportunities and social justice. She died in Florida in 2005.

Shirley's actions and bravery paved the way for so many individuals today.
